There has been a lot of talk (and footage) surrounding the giant fight scene in upcoming Batman flick Dark Knight Rises. Today, stellar blog i09 has a whole series of video footage of said fight (and some sweet vehicles as well). Here are my questions, as a stage combat director who has worked in very little film: are *all* these people performing choreographed moves? It’s obvious they’re all doing good staged punches, etc. but is *everyone* choreographed? If so, by whom, just one fight director? Are *all* of them stuntpeople, or are some of them extras with no stunt experience? In any case, wow, just…wow. My favorite clip of the collection is below. It’s my favorite because you can actually see Batman and Bane in the middle of the fracas (ah, it’s a good day when I can use the word “fracas”). ~Jenn
